The Developing Weentar story and why you should be a part of this community.

It is a simple idea and a story we have all always known, that traditional centralised systems are corrupt and evil because they centre power on very few individuals. This can be seen in all industries, but for the sake of this writing let us focus on social media.

We all live on social media, it is addictive. Our best ideas at this point may as well be a mimicry of the thousands of videos, images and tweets we consume daily. Our attention on these platforms have become capital. 230 Billion Dollars to be exact. That would be the total amount of ad spend on Facebook and Youtube alone in 2020, money all competing for your attention as the platforms work even harder to get us more addicted to scrolling and consuming content. We love the content, we hate the ads. From the creators, the influencers, the celebrities and the no follower having consumers like the rest of us, we have all become unwilling employees for a centralised system that doesn’t see us. 99.9% of us are not shareholders and so do not profit off of it, and the creators get a tiny fraction of the action only if they are well behaved. This is a centralised system in all its flaws. Our goal is not to be the next Facebook or Tiktok, we are trying to be something completely different. We would look a lot more like onlyfans to be frank, and you know why they succeeded? No, not just the x-rated stuff, I mean you are right, but let us think a little deeper. They gave more autonomy and power to their “creators”. 80% of generated revenue was paid to the creators. Better than the other centralised platforms, yes. But also the only monetary winners were the creators.

The Weentar idea is simple. How about a decentralised social media platform that rewards the creators as well as the fans? How? Simple. On the Weentar app, celebrities, influencers, creators and really anyone with a following would be able to create a profile, by doing so they would essentially be creating their digital currency that can be bought up by fans and investors alike. Like any other cryptocurrency project, buying tokens early is always a good idea especially when there is a chance for the digital community to grow. The “followers” own a stake in the future of that digital community and can always trade their currency for monetary gains at any time like with any good cryptocurrency project. So the game is no longer about being an observer with no say or gain, now you are an active member with an interest in seeing the value of your ownership in the brand that is the individual increase significantly. But it doesn’t stop there. This is not just about buying digital currencies of popular faces with the hopes of retiring early, I mean there is that, but there is more. Content posted on the Weentar blockchain by the creators would be Non Fungible Tokens that can be bought by fans. Just imagine the bragging rights, not to talk about the potential inherent value in owning something that could potentially be worth a lot in the future. This is the next level.

Creators and celebrities would essentially become micro-economies with communities formed around them pushing for the growth and essentially becoming digital countries with their own currency. The followers own a stake in the success of the brand, the creators own a total value of 10–15% of their currency if they are not paper hands and sell some of it off that is, and they can finally get more value for the content they put up. Access is currency ownership with different levels based on the volume of the currency owned and the perks the creators set. Everyone wins. Everyone except the centralised systems. They would not win here.
